The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardized aptitude test used by business schools in India. It is a paper–based test administered by the All India Management Association (AIMA). The MAT is used to assess a candidate‘s aptitude in the areas of language comprehension, data analysis and sufficiency, mathematical skills, intelligence and critical reasoning, and Indian and global environment. It is used as an admission criterion by hundreds of business schools across the country.
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) Eligibility Criteria
The MAT is an entrance exam for admission to MBA and other postgraduate programmes offered by the All India Management Association (AIMA). To be eligible for the MAT exam, candidates must have a Bachelor‘s degree in any field from a recognized university. Candidates in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply. There is no age limit for taking the MAT exam.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) Syllabus
The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is an entrance exam for admission to postgraduate management programs such as Master of Business Administration (MBA). The exam is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). The exam consists of five sections:
1. Language Comprehension :This section tests the candidate’s ability to understand written English. The topics covered are synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, idioms and phrases, one–word substitution, analogies, and reading comprehension.
2. Mathematical Skills :This section evaluates the candidate’s ability to solve mathematical questions. The topics covered are Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, and Statistics.
3. Data Analysis and Sufficiency :This section evaluates the candidate’s logical reasoning and data interpretation skills. The topics covered are Graphs, Charts, Tables, and Analytical Reasoning.
4. Intelligence and Critical Reasoning :This section tests the candidate’s ability to think critically and logically. The topics covered are Logical Reasoning, Series, Directions, Coding–Decoding, Analogy, Classification, Word Formation, and Blood Relations.
5. Indian and Global Environment :This section tests the candidate’s knowledge of the current affairs and the Indian and global business environment. The topics covered are General Knowledge, Business, Economics, and Current Affairs.
