Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) is an autonomous educational institution in India that provides the highest quality of scientific research and education. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Entrance Test
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Entrance Test is an all–India examination conducted to select candidates for admission to the five IISER campuses. The entrance test is conducted by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and is conducted in two phases: the Preliminary Examination and the Advanced Examination. The Preliminary Examination is a one–hour multiple–choice test that tests the candidate‘s knowledge of basic science topics such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. The Advanced Examination is a two–hour essay–style examination that tests the candidate‘s knowledge of advanced science topics such as biochemistry, molecular biology, and biophysics. The entrance test is conducted annually in the months of May and June.
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for admission to IISER depends on the course for which you are applying. Generally, the eligibility criteria for IISER are as follows:
• Candidates should have completed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as the major subjects.
• Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks (55% marks in case of SC/ST/PWD categories) in aggregate in these subjects.
• Candidates must have a valid score in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced/JEE Main/KVPY/IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).
