A Bachelor of Science in Animation is a four–year degree program that combines the principles of art and design with the technology of animation and visual effects. Students in this program learn how to create and produce digital animations, motion graphics, and visual effects for television, movies, video games, and other media. Courses cover topics such as character design, scene and set design, storyboarding, 3D modeling, lighting, and texturing. Students also learn how to use industry–standard software programs, such as Maya, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects. Additionally, students will gain a deep understanding of the history and theory of animation, as well as the business aspects of the industry. Graduates of this program are well–prepared to pursue careers in various areas of animation and media production.
Bachelor of Science in Animation Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a Bachelor of Science in Animation, you must meet the following criteria:
1. Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Be able to demonstrate a proficiency in the fundamentals of art, design, and/or computer graphics.
3. Have a portfolio that shows an understanding of the fundamentals of animation, including character design, storyboarding, and motion graphics.
4. Have a strong interest in the field of animation and/or motion graphics.
5. Be able to take the initiative to learn and apply new technologies and software.
6. Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
7. Have a good work ethic and be able to dedicate time to complete projects within strict deadlines.
8. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
