The COA is a statutory body established by the Indian government to regulate the education and practice of architecture in India. It was established in the year 1972. The COA is responsible for maintaining the quality of architectural education in the country and to regulate the profession of architecture. It also regulates the registration of architects and the granting of licences to them. The COA also provides guidance and advice to the Central and State Governments on matters related to architecture.
Council of Architecture (COA)Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is as follows:
1. The candidate must be an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
2. The candidate must have passed or appeared in the final year of the 10+2 examination in any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) from any recognized Central or State Board or its equivalent examination.
3. The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination.
4. The candidate must also have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics at 10+2 level or its equivalent examination.
5. The candidate must also have obtained a valid score in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
6. The candidate must also have obtained a valid registration with the Council of Architecture (COA).
