The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is a premier institute dedicated to the field of mass communication in India. It was established in 1965 by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It has campuses in Delhi, Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amravati and Jammu. It offers post–graduate and diploma courses in various fields of mass communication, including journalism, radio and television, and public relations. It also provides short–term courses and workshops for professional development.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Entrance Test
The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Entrance Test is conducted for admission to various post–graduate diploma courses in journalism, advertising and public relations offered by the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. The entrance test is conducted in the month of June every year. The eligibility criteria for the entrance test is graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
The entrance test consists of four sections – General Knowledge and Current Affairs, English Comprehension, Reasoning and Analytical Ability, and Mass Communication and Media Studies. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The questions are of multiple choice type and are divided into four sections. The total number of questions is 100 and the total marks is 100.
The selection process includes a personal interview. The selected candidates will be called for further selection process which includes a group discussion and an interview. The final selection will be based on the performance in the entrance test, personal interview, group discussion and overall performance. The application fee for the entrance test is Rs.1000/- and the exam fee is Rs. 1500/-.
The exam fee is to be paid through a demand draft in favour of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. The result of the entrance test is declared within a month of the test. The selected candidates are required to submit the required documents for admission. The institute also provides financial assistance to the deserving candidates.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for admission to the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) are as follows:
1. The applicant should be an Indian citizen.
2. The applicant should have a Bachelor‘s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
3. The applicant should have obtained at least 50% marks in the Bachelor‘s degree.
4. The applicant should have a valid score in the IIMC Entrance Examination.
5. The applicant should have a valid score in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview conducted by the Institute.
6. The applicant should be medically fit.
