The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree is designed to prepare graduates for advanced clinical practice and leadership roles in the nursing field. It provides a more in–depth education than a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, and focuses on evidence–based practice, healthcare policy, health informatics, and other leadership topics. The MSN degree typically takes two to three years to complete, depending on the program and the student‘s academic background.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Eligibility Criteria
To enter a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Have a current, unrestricted RN license.
3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in the BSN program.
4. Have completed a statistics or research course.
5. Have completed an undergraduate or graduate level health assessment course.
6. Submit official transcripts from all previous college coursework.
7. Submit standardized test scores from either the GRE or MAT.
8. Have letters of recommendation from two nursing faculty or professional references.
9. Have a current resume or CV.
10. Participate in an interview with the school‘s admissions committee.
